(05/08/1969) -- Astronaut Eugene A. Cernan is lunar module pilot for the Apollo 10 lunar orbit mission scheduled for launch from KSC on May 18. Cernan and Apollo 10 commander Thomas P. Stafford will detach the lunar module from the command/service module and drop to within 10 miles of the lunar surface before rejoining John W. Young, command module pilot, in the parent spacecraft.
